The Sheriff
Wayne County native Robert E. “Chuck” Moseley was elected in 2020. He took office in January 2021. Sheriff Moseley has been in law enforcement since 1984. Sheriff Moseley started his career with the Georgia Department of Corrections and continued by joining the Georgia State Patrol. Sheriff Moseley retired from the Georgia State Patrol as the Post Commander in Waycross in 2013. After retiring Sheriff Moseley joined the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office as the Patrol Division Commander where he remained until 2020.
Sheriff Moseley obtained over 3750 hours of training during his career. This Training allowed him to receive several certifications including:

- Traffic Accident Reconstruction Levels I, II, III, IV, and V

Sheriff Moseley received two noteworthy awards during his career. He was awarded the Georgia Department of Public Safety ‘Purple Heart Citation’ in 1995 after receiving a gunshot wound in the line of duty and Officer of the Year in 2012 by the Bacon County Exchange Club.
Sheriff Moseley has taken an active role in our community for many years. He coached recreation football and helped with his children’s other sports as they grew through the system. He has been a member of Crossroads Church of God since 1994.
Sheriff Moseley is married to Jennifer Todd Moseley of Blackshear, Georgia. They have two children, Hannah and Jarrett.
